There is always a point in time when you hit the cold water by accident in the mornings while testing for warm water. You could remember each second of that cold exposure and if you noticed you get chills (goosebumps) even after wearing your fluffy clothes.
Have you ever thought why you got chills and now you are too
awake?
It's because of the hormone dopamine, yes, it’s a pleasure
hormone, but scientists have clarified that its more of a pleasure-seeking
hormone, your brain remembers which of the moments gave you the most dopamine
be it chocolate, pizza, or some kind of web-series, which more often lead to
addiction.
According to Dr. Andrew Huberman, there is a 2.5 times increase in the baseline of dopamine, when our body is exposed to cold. Even after 2-3 hours, there are effects of cold exposure in our bodies, which are sustainable and good for our bodies and leads to mindfullness. So if you got chills after sudden cold exposure and were too awake, it's because of dopamine and how it creates mental toughness?
It forces you to get out of your comfort zone, as now it's winter, and we all probably take 30 mins to leave our comfortable bed, we all know our bed is most comfortable when we are waking up. If you expose yourself to cold water early morning, it will kick start your day, and rest of the day you will have more alertness. In 5 days only you could see huge differences in your mental clarity and alertness, probably better to sleep at night time rather than sleep at work, your night sleep will also become a good night's sleep.
At the end of the day, benefits can only be experienced, not
told.
Try for at least 5 days and you will see the difference!
Great 😊
